As sleep is an important part of development within this age group we offer a chance to relax in our specially designed sleep area with individual cots/sleeping mats and lullaby music allowing children to relax and re-energize before they begin another session of learning. If you do not wish your child to sleep in a cot we have a quiet area within the room equipped with cushions, mattresses so your child can rest when required.
The nursery operates a key persons system, each child is allocated a member of staff who takes a special interest in them and guides your child throughout their stay with us. The key person will monitor the progress of your child and liaise with you from time to time. Your child’ s development and progress will be monitored whilst at the nursery. This file is available for you to see at any time. Parents will also be given the opportunity to attend parents evening twice a year (you will be notified of these dates).
We have a “Learn Through Play” philosophy. Therefore Our nursery has been divided into a variety of learning and activity areas. Each area has been specifically designed to allow the children to have easy access to a wide range of stimulating activities and resources.
These will help develop and enhance their current knowledge, understanding and skills. Children have continuous free play throughout the nursery allowing them to choose for themselves which area they wish to engage in.
The nursery consists of the following areas:
• Construction and Small World
• Home Corner
• The Book Corner
